Gary G. Weske, Principal

In any situation you’ll find me paying attention to both halves of my brain. Outwardly cool, inwardly sweating out the details of each client’s project.
Pretty optimistic (I still root for Cleveland after over 35 years in the Bay Area!) I value a keen sense of humor. Can’t recall the last time I thought inside the box.

Joel M. Karr, Principal

Joel is a curious soul. Seeking elusive serenity and contentment.
On my coffee table: DWELL, The New York Times Luxury Homes and Estates Section, The Tao de Ching, Orchestral scores. UCLA M.arch., Oberlin BA. I've lived in Tokyo, Israel, Paris, New York, and LA, but give me San Francisco any day. On a voyage through life, striving to approach every day with no expectations, and life with hope, not fear.

Arnel Ryan

Arnel is a proud Bay Area resident, with a B. Arch. from California College of the Arts. He has experience in residential, commercial, retail, and government & laboratory projects. Permitting process and relationships with city departments throughout the Bay Area are some strengths, significant in the business of architecture.
He loves outdoors hiking, running, biking, gardening or just content sitting at an outdoor café and people watching.
Favorite numbers: 5 & 8 (5 because it’s always the first number that comes in his mind, and 8 because it’s the infinity symbol). Most admired architects/ designers: Gaudi, Kahn, the Eames, F.L. Wright & Calatrava.

Amber Semmen

Favorite “colors” are black, white, grey; I am in denial they are not colors.
I find juxtaposition very
intriguing. Favorite number is 8. I dream big. I do
not judge. I enjoy classy and fabulous but full heartedly relish living simply
and gratefully.

With a diverse background in interior architecture, design, project
management, CA and identity
work, Amber has created Corporate,
Civic/Government, Hospitality,
Retail, LEED, Environmental design, and
Award Winning projects (new construction and TI) locally
and internationally
ranging up to 2,500,000sf.

Andrew Martin

Andrew is one of our multifaceted team members.  He came to us from a hospitality background.  He now enjoys working on anything that involves a certain level of problem solving.  He feels just as comfortable doing core and shell work as he does corporate interiors.  “My favorite part of the project is watching the realization of our design through the construction phase.”  If he is not at work chances are you will find him somewhere enjoying the outdoors.
